Beware of the troll

Rick's fishing troll is here at his zibbet site. As always, neenah, promarkers, papers with mcs. And again, poem found on the internet. This was a delight to colour, there is faint crosshatching already on the drawing so if you want to have an idea on shading these images the guidelines are there ready for you.

Berry

This beautiful little girl is called Berry and is a digi from one of my favourite artists Sylvia Zet.  Berry can be found at http://www.weestamps.com  I printed her onto neenah and coloured her with promarkers. The bauble, papers, sentiment and buttons are from mcs. Usually I love to embellish my images but if they're going through the post then I prefer to keep them flat. I think this will be perfect for a certain Grand-Daughter. I would like to enter this into the following challenges

Roxy... a Broadway Babe

This lovely young woman is called Roxy, one of Rick's Broadway Babes. She is available here on Rick's Zibbet site. Printed onto neenah, coloured with promarkers. The cardstock is a shaped card, the card and sentiment are from Hunkydory.

It's a bit of a damp day here in Norfolk but I've noticed the primroses coming though under our weeping cherry tree. I treat the area as a nursery and transplant the little flowers into the borders as soon as they are big enough to handle. The rest of the bulbs are shooting up nicely so I will need to clear the area around them as soon as I am able to kneel on the ground. We have been digging the vegetable garden before the frosts make the earth to hard to work and I really wanted to get it clear and ready before Colin goes into hospital.

Finale of the dance... for the gents again or...

One more scantily clad lady. She is called Finale of the dance and is rather empowering I think. You can find her here at Rick's Zibbet store.
I have printed her onto neenah, coloured with promarkers. The double frame is made with my cricut. The background papers, screw heads and imagine embellishment made in mcs.

Before I go... Bon Marche have been teasing me, daily, sending me emails about the sale, little pictures down the side of my facebook page etc all showing my 4 quid frock in different colours.. I zoom to their site and find out they only have skinny minnie sizes left. Humph!! Well just now I thought oh well, I'll just have a look in case. Da da da da da da DAAA!!! It is free postage, they are in my size, they are gorgeous... I shouted down to Colin and he said 'Why not get three?'. Men should not joke about such things. I moved quicker than I normally do... went on their site... ok so the purple one would be too small... but... yes!! I ordered 2 blue and 1 green. Free P & P they will be here in a couple of days... WOO Hoo!! 4 quid frocks here I come!

La Commedia e spettacolare and completed project

This wonderful image is La Commedia e spettacolare and can be found here in Rick's Zibbet store. As before... neenah/promarkers/ a white frame made with my cricut, and here, in all its glory is my completed project... a £7 frame from The Range complete with the three pierrot images. I think it looks so pretty.
We didn't go round to Lisa's yesterday as Colin is feeling so sick and I always pick up any cold germs that are flying around.. He is laying on the couch and didn't really feel well enough to go round for a fun Sunday. At least we now have a date for his operation next month. I will have my digis and pens with me when I visit him... should be a two week stay in hospital then about four weeks without driving when I get him home. We think the chemo has worked well, just an op to cut away the rest. I went into the local town for a haircut (usually I have it cut at home but for two visits I have to go to the salon) I saw a lady I used to know from the market and the horror stories she insisted on telling me about people she knew who had cancer. For goodness sake, why do people have to do that?

Pierrot masque

This is the second in my collection of pierrots from Rick St. Dennis and you can find this in his Zibbet store here Printed onto neenah, coloured with promarkers. Again with a frame made with my cricut, and this is the middle frame of my project.
I suppose it's been a bit of a make and bake day today. I did a load of ironing, I've been printing digis and colouring and making mince pies... (who says mince pies are just for Christmas?) I've just got an apple and prune crumble to bake and a fish pie for tea. So... crumble made (tasted not bad) fish pie took less time to eat than it took to make. I think I have collected enough brownie points to have a fun weekend. I like to sit down with several digis and some films to watch and have a really good Saturday. Sunday we will be with Lisa and the grandchildren and I know it's going to be a fantastic day, the two little ones Jasmine and Poppy use me like a climbing frame and they are so funny. Jaydn is a lovely lad and we play card games and air hockey. Apart from the noise level and each kiddy wanting full attention all the time Colin and I have an amazing time with them. We know how lucky we are.

Pierrots Lumiere

Now then usually I hate clowns...I don't know what it is about them but I freeze or panic and just, just......eugh!!! BUT to me these are not the nasty clowns, these are almost elegant, tragic, soulful and to be looked after. I was a bit unnerved when I had Pierrot images sent to me, but these are gorgeous. There is so much detail I totally lost myself in the colouring. This image is called pierrots lumiere and you can find it here on Rick's Zibbet site. I printed this onto neenah, coloured it with my promarkers. I made a pretty frame with my cricut, white on white. I bought a very pretty frame to take three images, so, this is number one. In my next post I will show the second framed image.
Actually today is a good day. I had been looking through the bon marche online catalogue.  I liked the look of a couple of dresses and skirts in the sale so I placed an order. Well they arrived today. I am sitting here in my 4 quid frock and feeling the bees knees. It is really pretty  and I do wish I had bought more... I did look in the catalogue again but they had all sold out. My new skirt is so sweet too. I hadn't bought any clothes for ages but I think I'm on a roll!

Chanteuse

This lovely image by Rick is called 'Pistache 1930's Chanteuse' and can be found here. As always I have used Neenah/Promarkers/Hunkydory. I am really having fun with this cricut cartridge so I couldn't resist making a frame for this pretty lady. I thought she would only need a few embellishments so I have used a Hunkydory birdcage, sentiment and flowers. I have added this to the blog party here http://croftcrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/creative-friday-link-party-4.html please come on over and have a browse round all the projects.

Le Soubrette and Lemon Drizzle

This lovely young lady is called Le Soubrette and you can find this image here. in Rick's Zibbet shop. I really enjoyed colouring her with delicate colours, her beautiful clothes have so much detail. I have printed this image onto neenah and coloured her with promarkers. The pretty frame was made with my new cricut cartridge (Thanks Colin). The cardstock, sentiment and flower embellishments are all Hunkydory.
I've been baking today. I have made a lemon drizzle cake... is there anything more gorgeous than the lemon scent when you're baking? I haven't made one for quite some time but I thought today's the day. Trouble is though, once you have a little bit you need more. Therefore. A 'greedy' first slice is surely better than a 'skinny' first slice.

Musically Challenged challenge blog Guest Designer

This time I am a guest designer for http://musicallychallengedchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ This was a very unusual brief. It is an Alice in Wonderland theme with a list of song choices some of which I had never heard of before... this is going to be a very interesting challenge so I hope you will visit the blog and see how the crafters interpret these songs. My choice is Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum by Bob Dylan, The ladies are in fact one image called  2 Beauties by Rick and can be found here at the Rick St. Dennis Zibbet store. I flipped the image to give me twins, the Alice in Wonderland table and image in the frame is by The Paper Shelter and I just paper pieced the tablecloth. Printed onto neenah, coloured with promarkers.

Guest Designer spot for 'Its all about the Vintage'

This is my project as a guest designer for itsallaboutthevintagechallenge.blogspot.nl this is from the Hat Shop sheet by Rick and can be found here on his Zibbet site. For this GD spot I had to include embossing so I used a keepsake board for the mirror and jar. There is a link party going on here it's always fun seeing what the other crafters are up to.

'Monochromatic ' Digi Galore' Guest Designer

This image is from the Button and Bows sheet available in Rick's Zibbet store, There are two beautifully dressed little girls as well as a matching border and corners and of course this elegant lady on this sheet. The elegant lady and four corners have been fussy cut and built up with sticky fixers. I haven't made anything monochromatic before... this maybe the first of many for me. I am taking part as a guest designer for notrealstamps.blogspot.co.uk so I hope if any of you have completed a monochromatic image you will pop along to the challenge blog and enter your design.

Buttons and Bows revisited

Another image from the button and bows sheet from Rick this time with the button and bows border, so easy to colour and fussy cut. Again with the neenah/promarkers/Hunkydory. And again with the strong sunlight. I am loving these cute images from Rick, there is so much detail and really the shading is there for you so no guessing where the colour change should go. Also on this sheet are corners and two borders - always useful to have in your collection. I have made a topper for the sentiment and have the semi-completed card ready to be sent out at a moments notice (no getting stuck and flustered like last year).
We are all a buzz here at Peck towers...it's Jasmine's birthday very soon, she has asked for a pinata and a small selection of treats and chocolates. Is she really nearly 5?

Don't you just wish...

Well, Bitsy's back. This time for the one day hop over at Smeared and Smudged. The hop list is on my sidebar. I do hope you will have time to visit the blogs, be warned...they're probably not cute images but they will be a lot of quirky fun. I'm listed as The Nannie.
So, back to Bitsy. You can find her in Rick's Zibbet store here along with Buddy. Printed onto neenah, coloured with promarkers, script on my computer.

Mailboxes

I think this is such a pretty image, simple and very cute. I am going to make several of these to keep handy when I want to just send a short letter to someone. The image is by Rick and is called mailboxes, you can find the image here at Rick's Zibbet shop. Printed onto neenah, coloured with promarkers. Cardstock by Hunkydory.
Onto family news, we are still waiting for a date for Colin's operation. The chemo has shrunk the tumour on his lung so now we have to get Colin as fit as possible to allow the operation to go ahead. It is a strange time for us knowing that this will be a major operation, a two week stay in hospital then about six weeks recovery at home. It is the biggest challenge we as a couple have ever had to face and I thought we had been through some tough times before. Previous painful experiences have faded into dull memories. The dreadful pain my daughter has caused me, the fact that I have never met my grand daughter, the shame I feel about lies that have been told about me...I will concentrate on what I do have. My dear husband, the relationship I have with his daughter Lisa and her husband Manwai. My beautiful step-grandchildren Jaydn, Jasmine and Poppy and the crafters whose blogs I visit as often as I can. And the amazing friendships that are forming in the Rick St Dennis design team, fledgling  friendships but so important to me. Thank you my new friends, you are funny, witty, incredibly talented and always surprising.

Baby Baccus

This lovely image is Baby Baccus and is the free image from Rick for January. I have placed him on two background digis from Make it Crafty, one called Pebblestone Path and one called Cobblestone Path..... I have printed them onto neenah - still my paper of choice. Coloured with promarkers. The double frame is made using my cricut and my new cartridge called Fancy Frames. The embellishments made in mcs. And taupe frantage. The neenah, frantage, cricut toolkit, and cricut mats were all part of the Christmas presents given to me by Lisa and her family. Whose a lucky girl then?
I am also joining in with the Croft Crafts Creative Friday Blog Link Party.

Buttons and Bows

I wish you all a very happy and healthy New Year....did you pinch and punch? It was declared a draw in our house a couple of hours ago.
This little cutie is from the buttons and bows sheet by Rick, there are several images plus button and bow corners and borders for you to play with. Printed onto neenah, coloured with promarkers. The corner embellishment is one of the corners from the sheet, coloured and fussy cut. The cardstock is from a Hunkydory kit, all built up with sticky fixers. As Colin was taking the photo the sun came out  so it does look like the layers are deeper than they actually are, but I think they look fine.
