Bootsie

by Rick St. Dennis

Inspired by The Cat and the Mouse. A Book of Persian Fairy Tales.

This joyful image fits in so well with the sentiment. My granddaughter goes to circus classes after school and if she learns to juggle then I will be sending her this card.... I may send it to her anyway.

Octopus

I think this is the most amazing octopus digital image I have ever seen. Mermaids are so popular now and this chap would certainly add another dimension to an underwater project. Printed onto neenah, coloured with promarkers, background coloured with chalks. I learned a distressing technique by visiting Milo's blog so I bought a distressing tool...now everything is getting a shabby look. I made the embellished book in mcs, added ribbon and flowers.

mermaid

by Rick St. Dennis
This stunning mermaid has been a joy to colour. Printed onto neenah, coloured with promarkers. I used Reef Blue, Oasis and Rock Pool on her tail which I think is a lovely mix. With liquid pearls, ribbon (from Lidl's would you believe) flowers from wild orchid crafts, shells, 'driftwood' and mesh from stash, fancy doilies made using my cricut. Background made with chalks. Cardstock is adorable scorable from Hunkydory.

Today has been a beautiful day and I've been gardening again...

What happened to Spring?

What happened to the weather?? The last couple of days I've been working my socks off in the back garden. Yes, in my nightie... I've been digging the flowerbeds and transplanting bluebells and forget-me-nots, dividing primroses and  generally getting absolutely filthy. Then today I hung out the washing and Brrr... where did the sun go? Where is that wonderful warmth of yesterday?
Urchin with bird is one of mo's digi designs and you can find this sweet girl here printed onto neenah, coloured with promarkers. Background, sentiment, buttons, flowers and frames made in mcs.

Be very careful. Smeared and Smudged 'Void' Hop

This scary looking chap is Amulet from Rick St. Dennis and you can find the image here on Rick's Zibbet site. He was great fun to colour as Rick draws crosshatching where the shading could go.
The hand drawn image has been printed onto neenah, coloured with promarkers, frame, script and background made in mcs.
This is my entry for today's hop over at The Smeared and Smudged site. A one day hop, the subject is 'Void'. I hope you will visit the 'hoppers', the projects are going to be very striking and unusual.

It was a beautiful day yesterday so we were working in the garden again. We stopped for a cuppa sitting on the swing. A poem by Colin...
Being old we do not run
Instead we sit here in the sun
watching the buzzards overhead
are they wondering if we're dead?
No my husbands not departed
It's just the smell
from when he .....

Oh dear, MEN!!

Felicity Hump's day out

by Rick St. Dennis

I would like you to meet this wonderful lady... her name is Felicity Hump and she has been invited to the vicars luncheon. I think she is cheeky and a bit loud (like me) she sometimes barks when she laughs, has no time for expensive make-up or diets. Would be a very loyal friend and would share her last cupcake with you. I would love to have this lady as a friend, I think she is brilliant!
As always neenah/promarkers/mcs.

Three Chimney Cottage in Springtime

I really love this digital image by Rick St. Dennis. It is called Three Chimney Cottage and can be found here on Rick's Zibbet site.. I have combined this image several times behind other images and I think it works beautifully just on its own. Printed onto neenah, coloured with promarkers, clouds made with chalks. The frame and sentiment made in mcs.

The last few days have been so Springlike it really lifts the soul. I have been spending a lot of time in the garden...sometimes I even do a bit of weeding or just sit on the garden swing with Colin. We saw the buzzards again, we really should take our binoculars with us as it is so quiet in our garden except for birdsong and the odd noisy pheasant, we do get quiet a lot of wildlife around here.. A few winters ago I was in the garden the same time as a little deer. Magical.

Gardening in my nightie

This beautiful little girl is called Walker drawn by Mo you can find her here at mo's digital pencil. The path is called  Cobblestone Path you can find it here at make it crafty.
Printed onto neenah, coloured with promarkers. Clouds made with chalks. Cardstock is by Hunkydory. The frame, flowers and sentiment made in My Craft Studio.
It was such a beautiful day today. There is so much warmth from the sun and only a little breeze. Colin and I have been out in the garden, I've been weeding and Colin has been cutting back a couple of shrubs. I think he is getting stronger but we still have to be careful with him... his back looks like a shark bite but is healing. The heading to this post... I am fed up when I garden and my t-shirt rides up. My nighties are the t-shirt type nearly down to my knees, in other words not flimsy. So who can tell me what is a nightie and what is a t-shirt. So, I was sitting on an old rug (with an old hat pulled down over my glasses) weeding (now and then) watching the birds and just feeling warm. That is lovely after the awful weather we have had.

Star Fairy

The Star Fairy by Rick can be found here at Rick's Zibbet site. I positioned her on the beautiful background called Hidden Forest Seat by make it crafty which you can find here. Printed onto neenah coloured with promarkers and pencils with glitter on the wings and dress. The sky is quite pale...ethereal coloured with chalks. The cardstock is Hunkydory, the frame and sentiment made in my craft studio.
I hope you're keeping warm, it's been quite mild here.. in fact mild enough to get out into the garden. I have been weeding around the primroses and forget-me-nots, the daffs and snowdrops are in bloom. I remember last Summer when Colin was in the garden with Jasmine. They were playing I-Spy and it was Jasmine's turn. With the little ones they play I-Spy a colour...  and she said 'Something yellow' Well poor Grandad was trying for ages but couldn't guess. Jasmine said "The yellow in the middle of the forget-me-nots"

Not our garden but you can see how tiny these flowers are
