Sea Sprite with friend

 Sea Sprite 2 on Zibbet
Sea Sprite 2 on etsy
by Rick St. Dennis
This gorgeous young Sea Sprite is available in both the etsy and the zibbet store. A delight to colour and will be framed alongside Sea Sprite 1 which I will be showing in a few days. There are so many underwater images to choose from but this image is new to me so I couldn't wait to try out my new 'marine' promarkers.
We've just arrived home from paint shopping and I noticed the most beautiful tiny purple flowers peeking through nextdoors fence... if they grow on our side and they're purple or just very pretty they can stay.... Colin told me it is deadly nightshade! Oh well, they're gonna have to go! (but they are so pretty)

Morning Goddess Betty

by Rick St. Dennis
Here is another of Rick's Morning Goddesses. Printed onto neenah and coloured with promarkers. A little gloss on the coffee pot and mug. Background by mcs.
I hope you're having a good Bank Holiday, the weather has stayed lovely here, in fact it has been too hot and sunny to do any gardening. Because we had quite a lot of rain a few days ago the flowers are growing like mad... so are the weeds! The veg patch is looking good, everything is as it should be but this year Colin has fitted netting over the raspberries and a poly-tunnel over the delicate 'tasty to birds and slugs' beetroot. We haven't seen our family for a couple of weeks now, Colin gets exhausted easily after all his cancer treatment and I am just making him small meals that he doesn't always finish.

Pollyanna

 The Vicarage

Part of Home Sweet Home collection
by make it crafty
This sweet little girl in this indoor scene is Pollyanna. It is the first time I tried to cut away the background of an image using Serif Craft Artist... with a little more practice I should be able to make it seamless. The Serif itself was so inexpensive and it works alongside other designing discs beautifully. Printed onto neenah, coloured with promarkers, papers and ribbon from mcs.

This is for you

by Rick St. Dennis
He only did as he was asked... printed onto neenah, I still haven't found a paper I like better. And I use promarkers because that is all I have. I may like to try some of the new pens and pencils but until then I am happy with the ones I already have. Papers from the new range by mcs.
It is a gorgeous day today, Colin is painting his shed (man cave) and I have been weeding since about 8am but it is too hot and sunny to be out there at the moment. I may do some more after tea.

The Vicarage

by Rick St. Dennis
This beautiful Vicarage scene would look gorgeous as a background for so many images. This time I just had fun. I printed it onto neenah, colouring it with promarkers and used a paper from Alice in Wonderland... this time a set from mcs called 'A very important date'.

Morning Goddesses

by Rick St. Dennis

Two more of the Morning Goddesses by Rick. This time I have placed them onto part two of the kitchen set from make it crafty  Printed onto neenah, coloured with promarkers. Gloss added to the mugs, papers by mcs.
I hope you had a good weekend, we visited Lisa and the family and stopped for tea. There is something about having tea cooked for me that is so sublime, the roast chicken with all the trimmings was gorgeous! I made a rhubarb and apple crumble to take with us. The rhubarb was out of our garden-the first harvest of the year and I was quite chuffed with how it tasty it was. We are exhausted after playing with our grandchildren, they are great fun and as bouncy as kittens! I like to sit on the floor with them but as I get up they leap on me like that fella who spars with Peter Sellers in the Pink Panther films.

Fairy Queen Palace with Lamplighter Fairy

by Rick St. Dennis
I adore this image of the Fairy Queen Palace with the little Lamplighter Fairy. Many of Rick's images can become almost a story in themselves. These two images have been a delight to colour due to the way Rick has drawn them with slight cross-hatching to show where shading could appear. Printed onto neenah coloured with promarkers, papers, lamplight etc made with mcs.

Lady St. John-Smythe

by Rick St. Dennis
This wonderful lady is off to meet up with her chums, shopping in Harrods then maybe a light lunch before a stroll in the park. I have printed her onto neenah, coloured with promarkers. The flowers, papers and book are made in mcs.
During our hospital visit today I hope to be able to go into the operators room next to Colin whilst he has his radiotherepy. I am trying to be with him at every stage of his treatment. I think when someone has cancer it does involve the whole family... only eight more sessions to go...
We had the normal trip to the hospital for Colin's treatment and this time I went in with him. Colin put on one of those attractive backless gowns over his trousers, put his clothes into a basket and waited to be called. When the nurse came to collect us we meandered round a maze to the treatment room where he took off his glasses and got onto the bed. His gown was lowered and then the fun started. The bed was raised to chest height and the lights dimmed. Colin laid with his arms above his head holding onto a bar and a green laser grid appeared on Colin's chest and with a nurse either side of him (and me getting in the way) Colin was moved slightly to line up his tattoos and the ink lines drawn on him until the screens read the correct position. This was all explained to me and of course I hadn't a clue what they were talking about. They took their time to get everything perfectly aligned and said we are now we going back to the 'control room' One nurse pressed a button and a loud beeping noise started. I followed the nurses but one said 'you may want to hurry a bit' ... eek!! it was like a spy film where we have to escape the baddie! So I rushed after the nurses round the maze to the control room where they said they had to secure the room because of the radiation. They have to have corners in the maze and it is made of concrete lined with lead because x-rays flow in straight lines. Then they started the treatment which was all explained to me and which of course all went over my head. The nurses both took the time to show me everything they were doing and the control panel really looked like something out of a sci-fi film. This huge machine circled Colin one way and then round the other way, I commented on the size of the machine and was told that even more of the machine was the other side of the wall to where Colin was laying. The treatment was then over and we went in to collect Colin... I was able to tell him all about what was happening whilst he was just laying there, or at least a simple version. It was all quite exciting really. Now we have the weekend off and treatment starts again on Monday.
