For Jasmine

By Rick St. Dennis
Rick's facebook page

I bought this from Hobbycraft and couldn't wait to make it into a treasure box for our little grand-daughter Jasmine.

I worked in sections. I scrunched up then flattened out a bit several tissues and placed them by the side of my workspace, then painted the front cover with gesso.. whilst the gesso was wet I placed a tissue onto it, flattened out so that only slight ridges formed leaving a flat place in the center of the front cover for an image and painted over the tissue which stuck it to the cover.. . I did this for all sides, waiting till the sides were dry before going on to the next. I painted the inside of the box with two coats of white acrylic paint. When the inside was dry I stamped tiny lilac flowers randomly across the bottom. Then I took a small sponge and rubbed over the ridges on the outside of the box with the same lilac colour.
I printed a lovely image called Garden Sprite Large onto neenah and coloured her with promarkers and spectrum noir pencils and stuck her to the front of the cover, rubbing over the edges with the lilac. I stuck ribbon around the 'pages' and two large pretty buttons.

Finola and Miss Hatter

Finola and Miss Hatter
By Rick St. Dennis

Background English Town
for Craft Artist 2
Miss Hatter has arrived and everyone has spruced their ideas up a bit. No more Tat. There is a world of crafting waiting for Finola all she has to do is follow those boots as Miss Hatter leads her into craft shop after craft shop. Cilla (the monster) slug has agreed to carry the bags till Xavier the owl can collect them and fly them home. Finola will have to look out for Evillena as she will always snap up a bargain and has been known to swap the price tickets. Trevor (the morphing craft wizard) has offered to pay for any supplies as he was so grateful for all the help Finola gave him when he got stuck between feathers and silk.
A table has been booked in the beautiful little tea shop for when they have finished shopping and Carla and Fiona are already there waiting to show Finola their new toys and papers. Catz is already there with Fernanda sharing a corner with Nan and Tina. Rachel has managed to way-lay Evilena and Rick has arrived with Helen and Mo. Bonnie is collecting trays of tea and cakes with Lady B and Rhoda whilst Deborah, Vicky and Deb try to persuade Cilla and Xavier to sit at the table outside as once Cilla's slime gets on Xaviers feathers everyone's going to be in such a mess. Lynda and Diane have collected several freebies to share out which is where I come in.. I would like to thank you all for joining in the fun with my stories and for all the suggestions from anyone I may have missed out. Finola's stories are having a break but there is always something happening here so I hope you will all join in the fun and games.

Monster Slug and Finola

 Finola and the Monster Slug
by Rick St. Dennis
Rick's facebook page
Background Beautiful Princess, Lake House and Doll House
from Mischief Circus

Really Cilla is getting a bit peeved at being called a Monster Slug. Her species is a beautiful lilac colour in the Springtime, even her slime isn't really as bad as some of the smaller slugs think... just the exact amount of sticky which does come in handy when carrying items such as tea trays and cutting machines. Here Cilla is trying to warn Finola about the dangers of too much macrame and pompoms without Evilena noticing what is going on behind her back. Cilla has already cleaned up the spilled paint and the pencil shavings. The ants and the cupcake are outside in the bin. And Finola has climbed on some rather nice home made cushions so that she can go eye to eye with Cilla which hopefully will help them whisper about pompoms without our Finola getting sprayed with goo. Cilla's friend Fiona is trying to keep Evilena in the kitchen as Evilena has got quite a temper. But suddenly the backdoor opens with such force that it slams against the wall. The ladies shriek, well Cilla's shriek is more of a very loud gurgle (But very effective) And there stands.....

If you have an idea of who startled Finola then please visit the Rick St. Dennis facebook page and leave a comment describing the character. This could be chosen as the next main element, you and I will receive a copy of the image free of charge. I will colour mine and add the next part of the story.

Gone Fishin' for Karleigh Sue

by Karleigh Sue
Background Summer Fishing collection details to follow

I am now part of the Karleigh Sue Design Team and I'm having a lovely time colouring up these super cute images. I think this is a lovely Spring/Summer image of a young girl having a wonderful day out. Fresh air, little ducklings, fishing and some sandwiches. Not a care in the world. My grand daughter would be her friend as she loves fishing too.
I printed this image onto neenah cardstock which I think works so well with my promarkers and spectrum noir pencils. After colouring her I scanned the image onto my computer and used Craft Artist 2 to make the background.

Klub Kid Elf

by Rick St. Dennis
Rick's facebook page
Background Behind the Hill by High Four
for Mischief Circus

I know Easter isn't over yet but I have so many Christmas cards to send out that me and the elves really had to get started behind the scenes. Yes, yes.. that should have been the elves and I or the elves and me BUT!! I make the hot chocolate every twenty minutes or so and you can be sure there will always be enough gingerbread on 'Christmassy' plates to keep even the grumpiest gnome happy so I do think in this instance I can have pole position.. Usually we like to stick to employing elves but this year we are expanding Santa's workshop and we do need Gnomes in the packing department (more on that later)
This club elf is ready to start work advertising the coming Season and personally I think she is looking grand! The interior of the packing department is still needing a few home comforts before the Gnomes arrive so they are not going to be here for at least a week. The Elf section is almost ready and the Angels are teaming up with the Choir to keep everyone singing along although maybe this year we had better be careful with the song requests as last year one pesky Pixie kept asking for the 'Fairy tale of New York' and we all know how raucous that became. For now we will just wait for this lovely Elf to open the door to the secret workshop at the end of our garden in a place we like to call Foggy Bottom.
