I bought this from Hobbycraft and couldn't wait to make it into a treasure box for our little grand-daughter Jasmine.
I worked in sections. I scrunched up then flattened out a bit several tissues and placed them by the side of my workspace, then painted the front cover with gesso.. whilst the gesso was wet I placed a tissue onto it, flattened out so that only slight ridges formed leaving a flat place in the center of the front cover for an image and painted over the tissue which stuck it to the cover.. . I did this for all sides, waiting till the sides were dry before going on to the next. I painted the inside of the box with two coats of white acrylic paint. When the inside was dry I stamped tiny lilac flowers randomly across the bottom. Then I took a small sponge and rubbed over the ridges on the outside of the box with the same lilac colour.
I printed a lovely image called Garden Sprite Large onto neenah and coloured her with promarkers and spectrum noir pencils and stuck her to the front of the cover, rubbing over the edges with the lilac. I stuck ribbon around the 'pages' and two large pretty buttons.
