Garden Sprite Chortles

by Rick St. Dennis

I love this little sprite. I have coloured and framed a set of them already but felt it was time to post about them again. 'Chortles' has been printed onto neenah and coloured with promarkers. I imported the image in to Craft Artist 2 to remove the white background. I then used 'Berry Pie' to make the background, frame, embellishments and script.

Esmeralda 2 Down in the woods

by Rick St. Dennis
One of Rick's gypsy ladies. I have coloured this free spirit several times now and each time she looks so different. Esmeralda is printed onto neenah, coloured with promarkers. I imported the image into Craft Artist 2 where I removed the background whiteness. I also imported the woodland. The faux stitching, the rope frame and the flowers were added.

Olympia

 Olympia
by Rick St. Dennis
This is the first part of a couple. This wonderful mechanical lady. I printed her onto neenah and coloured her with promarkers. The green woodland with a shaft of sunlight is from 'A Very Important Date' cd by MCS. The balcony with the arches is also by MCS. I prepared and saved everything in MCS. I also opened Craft Artist 2. I opened a new page and imported the woodland background, then the balcony and altered them to fit together. I imported Olympia and removed the white background and placed her onto the balcony.  The red matting was part of a free CA2 digi kit. I had a fantastic time with the final green matting. In CA2 there is a stencil section... I placed my chosen stencil over an elongated green 'mat' and digitally airbrushed it in 'yellowy' gold. I got a bit carried away and moved the stencil around a bit and airbrushed a couple of extra flowers. I am so chuffed with the outcome, I even quite like the way the top of the airbrushing doesn't quite go to the top of the card. I exported the nearly completed project back in MCS where I added the digital paperclip and paper with the sentiment and my watermark.
Dr. Coppelius follows some time next week.

The shortened history bit
Coppélia concerns an inventor, Dr Coppelius, who has made a life-size dancing doll whom he calls Olympia. It is so lifelike that Franz, a village swain, becomes infatuated with it and sets aside his true heart's desire, Swanhilde - she shows him his folly by dressing as the doll, pretending to make it come to life and ultimately saving him from an untimely end at the hands of the inventor.

Would you want a cuppa?

by Rick St. Dennis
There is so much going on with this amazing image! Here we have the March Hare as I have never seen him before... not so cuddly. This is part of Rick's stunning Wonderland series and I am so enjoying colouring them and I still have Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum to show you.
I printed this image onto neenah and coloured him with promarkers and pencils and scanned the coloured image into my craft studio and saved it along with the background from mcs 'A Very Important Date. From there I imported both the image and the background into Serif Craft Artist 2 where I removed the white background from the main image and melded the image into the background. There are lovely embellishments on CA2 called cracks and Dry Lake with which I have edged both backing papers. Then the completed project is exported back into mcs for the sentiment and watermark.

Fairy Facebook message for Jasmine

The Paper Shelter

Such a super sweet image from The Paper Shelter. My beautiful grand daughter Jasmine is coming to stay for a little holiday and together we are Team Tinkerbell... Grandad is a honorary fairy! so he can join in too. (Colin has just told me to add here that he is glad I wrote 'honorary!') Our Grandson Jaydn is also coming but he isn't in Team Tinkerbell... I don't think he minds. And lovely little Poppy just joins in anyway. I have coloured this pretty little fairy many times and today I think she looks perfectly cool under the tree just catching up with her pals.
I have printed this busy little fairy onto neenah, coloured her with promarkers as always. The background is from 'Scenes' a collection of freebies from my craft studio. The border has been made in Serif along with the background of the text. How I did that I do not know!!! but I like it so it can stay.

Manwai's Birthday

Fred (mouse with his tail in the air)
Eek   (Parachute mouse)
by Rick St. Dennis
Printed onto neenah, coloured with promarkers then imported into Serif to remove the white background of the main image. The wall of clocks and the floor were also imported into Serif and melded with the main image. The sentiment was then added and the whole thing exported back into my craft studio for a watermark.
So it's Happy Birthday to Manwai our lovely son-in-law. With Lisa, Jaydn, Jasmine and Poppy, two dogs, one kitten, two guinea pigs and a turtle and his full time job at HMSO with night-time call outs  he needs a bit of a rest! We looked after his flock whilst he and Lisa went out for a meal. We had a brilliant time with the children making loom band bracelets. Jaydn already knew how to make them but little Jasmine learned how to make them so quickly... she's only 5 and made so many she had them from wrist to elbow. Now Colin is hooked on making them - he has a loom being delivered next week with a supply of the little bands and has already asked me about beads to embellish them. I'm actually getting quite excited about a whole new range of bracelets and anything else he will be making. I love it that he likes crafts, not as much as I do but still he gets very involved in rug making and now these loom bands... I wonder what he will be making next.

A Birthday card for our grandson Jaydn

by Mo's Digital Pencil

make it crafty

Urban Scene (I will post a link when I find it)
make it crafty
So, for Jaydns card I wanted to try some new ideas. The countryside background is from 'An Important Date' a disc by My Craft Studio. Layered on top of it is the amazing fence by Make It Crafty... you can place this image on top of any scene and it immediately looks fantastic (i know-it's fantastic anyway but you get my drift). To the side is a wall with spray paints, exposed brickwork, pavement and links up with the fencing perfectly. Then we have Paul. A wonderful image of teenagerhood. I have coloured him many times and there is a section over at Mo' digital pencil where you can find some fantastic young male images (along with images for any occasion)
I coloured Paul, the brickwork and the spray cans with promarkers. Using Serif I removed the white background from the wall and added my chosen 'material' for the slightly textured wall and matched up the fence to the fixings on the wall itself. I then imported Paul into Serif where I removed the excess white background and added a shadow.  The text was added in Serif... the first time I have altered a text with that program I originally wanted it to look like graffiti but maybe that is for another day. and I still can't work out how to change the colour of the text yet. I added a shadow to the text... it may not be in the correct place but ho hum...
Anyway we had a lovely time at the Birthday tea and Grandad and I are the proud recipients of loom bands which we will wear for ever and ever!

Just checking

by Mo's digital pencil
The chair is a digital image on the Very Important Date cd
by My Craft Studio

I printed the lady onto neenah paper and coloured her with promarkers. Then I imported her into Serif to remove the white background.
I printed the chair also onto neenah paper and coloured the books with promarkers. I imported the chair into Serif where I removed the whiteness of the chair itself. I chose a pretty pattern for the fabric of the chair and placed it behind the chair. Then I placed the completed images together and exported them back into mcs where I added the butterfly paper, bubble and sentiment.

To please me

by Rick St. Dennis
and the digital background
by Make it crafty

Now then, this is a lady after my own heart. She knows what she likes and she knows what she wants! This is one of Rick's wonderful character ladies, printed onto neenah and coloured with promarkers. I then imported the coloured image into Serif where I removed the white on her nightdress. I imported a pretty pink flowery background and placed it behind the image so it looks like she has a pretty nightdress..
The bedroom scene is from make it crafty. Again printed onto neenah and coloured with promarkers. Imported into Serif to remove the white background and to have pretty wallpaper and flooring added. I then placed the completed Lady B onto the scene and added a shadow. Then it was back to mcs for the watermark and sentiment.

Dandelion Sprite

Dandelion Sprite
by Mitzi
for Aurora Wings
I have been buying digital images from Aurora Wings for a couple of months. I am stunned by the quality and their beauty, printed onto neenah paper and coloured with promarkers. There is a lot of very fine detail in the images which made it easier for me to relax and take my time to get the shades that appealed to me without worrying about colouring in large areas. I have placed a bubble over the coloured sprite and a background and sentiment by mcs.

Such a pretty hat

by Rick St. Dennis
I just adore this image and the beautiful young woman looks lovely on a simple background. Just a simple background paper and some faux stitching and a sentiment and I don't think I need to embellish it any further. Printed onto neenah, coloured with promarkers, background from mcs and stitching from Serif.
