Chef Nimbleknees

I think it all started when Nim saw the balloons tied to a gate. He did try nibbling them but really a mouth full of rubber is not that tasty. He smelt pie.. he couldn't see it but oh boy could he smell it! His nose started twitching like a divining rod and lead him past the gate and down the path and round to the backdoor and through the catflap. There was no-one about, all was quiet as Nim crept towards the windowsill where a pie was cooling. Nim had never been in such a kitchen before and gazed about in awe.. this is what he had dreamed about all those long cold nights in his cave. Here was warmth and wonderful smells and, and, and JAM!!!!

Do you have an idea how this story unfolds? Let me know and I will try and incorporate your idea into the story.

A pampering visit to the Beauty Salon awaits...

by make it crafty
This is my favourite background image and this is how I start my projects.. colouring the image and planning which character I will be using and which section of the background. This is one of the most comprehensive backgrounds I have to work with. Each image comes separately, every chair, tables everything. Just imagine what you could do with this.

Day three of the girls shopping trip. They are still having loads of fun in the Zoe's Mall and I'm having a great time colouring them. This sheet gives five images for modern teenager projects. It's sometimes difficult to find images quirky enough for teens but I think Rick's girls fit the bill perfectly.
Coloured with spectrum noir pencils, the background and all embellishments made in Craft Artist 2

Finally enough shopping

All five girls together at last. A great day out, success, I will certainly be having fun with these ladies again very soon.
Printed onto neenah, coloured with spectrum noir pencils which is fairly new to me. I love combining images to tell the story and I hope you will too.

I do love this background image. It comes with the items of clothing on the left but I added the Holiday Shop items on the right. I also removed the 'panes of glass' on the ceiling and placed a sky image behind the framework. This time everything is coloured using spectrum noir pencils then uploaded into Craft Artist 2 to add the Holiday Shop items, and the baubles etc to the display on the left.

Malificent for the RSD Showcase

by Rick St. Dennis
Rick's facebook group
This wonderful image is my contribution for the Rick St. Dennis Showcase over at the Airless Chambers Blog (For spooky stuff) Isn't this such a dramatic image! My list of favourites is steadily growing.
I printed this onto neenah cardstock and coloured her with promarkers and spectrum noir pencils then I imported it into Craft Artist 2 and created the background.

Felicity Hump in Paris

by make it crafty
I thought Felicity needed another day out. This time she is by a cafe in Paris waiting for her beau. This background is the most detailed one I have ever coloured by hand and I absolutely adore it.. Zoe at make it crafty always has the most wonderful backgrounds and I have coloured quite a collection of them, once I have coloured them I use them over and over.
Printed onto neenah card and coloured with promarkers and spectrum noir pencils then imported into Craft Artist 2 where I removed the white background for Felicity and combined her and the Paris scene.

Burlesque with China Blue

Burliecuties  Number 6 from a sheet of 6
Rick's facebook group
by make it crafty

The last chance before the Big Night! China Blue knows there can be no Happy Ending but is still drawn to this classic old Theatre. Now all the ladies are gathered back stage waiting for their turn. Tomorrow there will be guests and congratulations cards and champagne and flowers. Tonight there is a sense of waiting, something in the swirls of dust, in the old lights and curtains.

This delicate lady looks as fragile as a spider web.
But  (The science bit)
The tensile strength of spider silk is greater than the same weight of steel and has much greater elasticity. Its microstructure is under investigation for potential applications in industry, including bullet-proof vests and artificial tendons. In traditional European medicine, cobwebs are used on wounds and cuts and seem to help healing and reduce bleeding. Spider webs are rich in vitamin K, which can be effective in clotting blood. Webs were used several hundred years ago as gauze pads to stop an injured person's bleeding.

Burlesque Lilac Lil

Burlicuties number 5 from a sheet of 6
by Rick St. Dennis
Rick's facebook page
by make it crafty
Lilac Lil can see what is happening at the back of the Theatre and she is trying to catch the eye of the Stage Manager or one of the girls. She knows that the show must go on but at what price.. just one more chance for the troupe to all perform together. One more rehearsal, please.. just one more.. but where are Sabrina and Lindy Lou? Liza is looking really quite ill, Lola is looking after her. The Stage Manager has started running down the aisle closely followed by the Wardrobe Mistress but the stalls somehow seem to be tripping them up.....

Burlesque in Lime.. Lindy Loo

Burliecuties   Number 4 from a sheet of 6

by make it crafty
Lindy Loo is a very strong lady. She has spotted the footprints crossing the stage.. she knows where they have come from but not where they are going to. She is going to get to the bottom of this and she will ensure everyone's safety.. Everything has to go smoothly at the weekend, this may be the last time some of these ladies get to be on stage and nothing and no-one is going to come between these ladies and their taffeta!

Burlesque in Gold meet Sabrina

Burliecuties   Number 3 from a sheet of 6
by Rick St. Dennis
Rick's facebook page
by make it crafty
Sabrina is now on the stage going through her set. She has started shivering uncontrollably and can barely sing a note. Sabrina is the sensitive one. The one always attuned to the feelings of others but tonight she wished, harder than she has ever wished before, that these senses didn't start flooding in all at once. There has been a great sadness here. Something needs to be resolved and soon. Belongings have gone missing from the dressing rooms. Personal items, brushes and apple cores and a half drunk cup of tea. Light bulbs have been popping as Sabrina approaches the stage. A shadow with no corporeal link has been spotted backstage.

Burlesque in Fushia.. Meet Lola

Ok so they are just putting on a small show to a select audience but the billboard has their names correctly spelt and the tickets have all been sold. Families and friends are waiting, and Grandma has found her lost sequins and is ready! Liza from yesterday has rehearsed and is waiting for Lola to go through her act.. everyone is so excited but there is just something not quite right about the Theatre tonight. Still, I'm sure everything is going to be alright on the night.

I can't believe the value you get in Rick's digi image sheets. He has drawn six of the prettiest little dancers all ready for you to colour in and place on your projects.. and where better for them to appear? The Grand Opera Theatre!

I would like you to give a round of applause for Liza. This beautiful little Flapper is just going through her act for the big show later on this week so you are lucky to have found a front row seat for the 'run through' There is an unsettling shadow at the back of the room where the lights don't quite reach but I think everything will be just fine.

I am having so much fun with this whole sheet of lovely images and of course working with Zoe's background images from make it crafty are bliss.

Colours used
